Cargo Ship Makes Historic Journey Through English Channel Without Icebreaker

A cargo ship similar to the MV Noresearch.

As a result of climate change caused only by rich successful Western countries a cargo ship today completed a transit of the English Channel without assistance from an icebreaker.
No icebreaker needed for historic voyage.

The captain of the vessel, MV Noresearch, 15,000 tonnes was able to stand on the ship's bridge in shirtsleeves during the voyage.

He reported seeing no Polar Bears, which is because of overfishing and Americans eating meat according to the only climate scientists who tell the truth and refuse to deny the overwhelming evidence.

An iceberg. Note the absence of Polar Bears.
The extent of the ice sheet in the Northern Hemisphere is at its lowest since the end of the last Ice Age more than 11,000 years ago.

Mr Marlowe, an expert on the shipping industry stated exclusively that the "English" Channel or La Manche as it is more usually known could become the world's busiest shipping lane, thereby potentially saving billions of tonnes of CO2 by avoiding the alternative Southampton-motorway-Harwich route to the North Sea.

Yes - I saw this. It would certainly alter trade in the short term, before we all go down in a screaming heap.

Crikey, that is a bit alarming!

James: Screaming Heap would be a good name for a boat.

CherryPie: But it fills non-advertising space in newspapers.

The author stated -

"As a result of climate change caused only by rich successful Western countries a cargo ship today completed a transit of the English Channel without assistance from an icebreaker. "

So I suppose the trillions of tons of pollution produced by China, Russia and South Africa don't count? Before you make such a sweeping statement do a little research.

Hi Thumper, may I suggest that you read Dean Swift's "Modest Proposal", realise that it does not advocate child cannibalism but is a plea for welfare to prevent malnutrition amongst the poor in Ireland, and realise that the post you have read is a satire on the non-news event of two German icebreaker transport ships that made a routine resupply to the Russian far north from the far east and continued home to Europe. it's called satire.
I appreciate all ill-researched sweeping comments with good humour. Often they are the best bits on the blog.

I was a bit hasty in my comment. I have not read enough of your blog to be familiar with your writing style, so perhaps I am guilty of jumping to conclusions without doing my homework. Too few people recognize satire and so many people are busy blaming western culture for ALL of the evils of the world that it was easy to believe that was what you were doing. I apologize for my assumptions. Sometimes it infuriates me that those people doing the most finger pointing are those enjoying the most benefits of our "evil western civilization" while making the least contribution.

Thumper - thank you and please accept my apolgy for my hasty reply to your comment. Anyway, I'm glad that you're on the right side regarding the benefits of western civilisation. There'd be no blogs without it. Have you tried the excellent EUReferendum blog?
