An Idea To Help England Through The Recession

I cannot abide soccer so I offer the idea below for the benefit of those that follow the loathsome game.

Cap the ticket price to see a football game at £5.

The salaries of players and managers may need to be reduced as a result.

But it will benefit fans at a time of economic belt tightening.

Do you like the rugby, Gallimaufry?

I can honestly say that no ball game interests me. However, I do like sports especially fishing.

Do rugby clubs charge more than £5 to get in (I'd pay £10 to get out)? I didn't know their players were paid silly money. OK, £5 max entrance fee for all games.
And why not a similar cap on theatre ticket prices as well subsidised by a tax on musicals and stage adaptations of films?

I have never been too keen on football but I did enjoy the stories told me by friends who did closely follow teams...now alas an impossibility for some due to cost.your idea would perhaps introduce a little social cohesion...not a bad thing at the moment.
