I Think Barack Obama Will Be An Excellent President

I was most impressed by his performance at today's press conference. He has bottom or gravitas, he thinks before he answers, can nail words together fluently into a sentence and, most importantly, has a good sense of self deprecating humour. I may not agree with all his policies but he has time to change.
I wish him, his family and the American people the best of luck for the future.
I wish we in England had someone of his calibre instead of the sixth-form debating society of Cameron, Clegg and Brown and so on down the ranks who vie with each other to outdo their condemnation of Ross and Brand while ignoring the important questions they have no influence over nor genuine interest in. As Sir Winston Churchill might have described them, "mice in hobnail boots". How's that Hazel?

I hope he will be an excellent president. He will certainly have a lot on his plate from the word go.

It certainly will be a change, let's hope it is a change for the better.

At least the political cartoonists won't draw him as a chimp or cowboy so his credibility goes up straight away. Mind you, I see a definite similarity between The One and a Pepperami sausage.

I suppose as a follower of a racist pastor(wright) and a friend to unrepentant terrorists(ayers etc)one could consider him a good choice for president..on the other hand he could possibly be the biggest media driven disaster ever...I know which my money is on.

Well, anyone who saw the front page picture of Barack Obama and Major Tammy Duckworth on today's Times might think differently about the President-Elect.
Still, with two wars ongoing, the Middle East, competition from China and India, the energy crisis and world recession and the banking crisis, at least some people will now be able to blame a black man for their troubles.

not sure of your point about pic....and his being black doesn't really figure into his various major character defects....as we face incredible worldwidce problems we have at Americas helm a man who has never even held a job....time will no doubt tell.

Well America can vote Obama out in 2012 if he doesn't come up to scratch. Give the guy an even break.
