Friday Aircraft Recognition



Neither are Aviation Traders Accountants - the alleged originator of the undercarriage and Dart engine fairings.

I was going to ask, tentatively, if the photographs are of Avro 748s, just because that was the first name that came to mind, but I Googled 'Avro 748' and discovered that the upper photograph is listed as an HS 748 so I'm delighted to be able to say, without fear of contradiction, that the aircraft are/were Avro 748s.

I can only see one 748 in the pictures - and it's not the same aircraft with a respray.

We need a return to the Empire class flying boat.

Or a modern version of the Saro Princess, with a new London Airport in the Thames Estuary: a couple of runways built on an island made from recycled materials next to the flying boat terminal. There would also be highspeed train links to London and the continent - call it Maplin Sands MkII. Better value than the Olympics
