Theo Spark: DML wants to know what this is.....

But what's this chap?

I've erased the serial to make things more fun.

Et cet homme ?

the lower one is the Max Holste MH.1521 Broussard designed in the early 50s as the french realised they had no plane for quickly evacuating high ranking officers from the battlefield when things went, invariably, tits-up. Later used, probably.... with the advent of the hun-frog axis, to ferry high-ups to the french/german 'rimming talks' that set up the EU nation.
Probably sold to any tinpot dictator who's country was infested with french arms salesmen.
Note. this information is not found in the wikipedia entry.

I'm still foxed by the first....looks experimental.

Aha ! it is a Scottish Aviation Prestwick Pioneer, saw it at Farnborough years ago, they made a twin pioneer also.
Unlike the frog thing, this was made to get our brave and noble officers INTO the battle area, return trips evacuated battle casualties and, probably, french scaredycats.

LMFAO @ Haddock's inimitable style.

Well done on both accounts haddock. I obscured the serial to make the 2nd type harder to identify as you suggested. Mind you, with that acreage of slat and flap it could only be a Pioneer.
